Jourdan Dunn Gets Nixed From The Dior Show Because Of Her Chest Size

Dior is typically slammed for having a completely Caucasian cast of models, and it seems that creative director Raf Simons has taken criticism to heart. His last haute couture collection featured a much more diverse mix of women including Joan Smalls, Alek Wek, Ming Xi, among others...though one obvious face was left out. After being nixed from the lineup, supermodel Jourdan Dunn took to Twitter to explain why:
Casting for runway shows is a weird gray 5'10"-size-2-whitewashed area, since making decisions based on aesthetics could call for specific swath of models (though, we're not sure what kind of strategy brands are employing here by showing that their collections only look good on a very specific sort of woman). However, contrary to what you might think the collection would look like, the Dior haute couture show wasn't a parade of low-cut tops; Dunn could have easily worn a 80% of the collection without having to showcase her chest at all. Chances are, the reasons for her booting is probably a tad more complicated. We've reached out to Dior for a comment, and will update this post when it comes through.
