Brace Yourself, Designer Basil Racuk Is Getting A Brick And Mortar

main
We’ve been longtime admirers of handbag designer Basil Racuk’s sleek, modernist approach to accessories. So, while we definitely aren’t opposed to borrowing from the boys, we’re excited for the impending launch of pieces made just for us gals.
That’s right, the now Mission-based (more on that in a sec) design extraordinaire is hitting us with some treasures we’ve taken a shine to, i.e. metallic totes and clutches with vegetable-tanned leather trim. And, with price points without the sticker shock, how could we resist? "The store is about catering to the modern woman who is looking for local, great design," Racuk says. Are you swooning yet? Well, here's more reason: The designer (who has 25 years in the biz under his stylish belt) is opening up his first-ever retail space in the Mission. After moving from his Oakland studio, the designer has scored some prime real estate on 18th Street. So, now you know where to get your paws on the aforementioned sparkly stunners. The shop officially opens Saturday, July 20 — mark those cals!
