Rinko Kikuchi Is A Sci-Fi Fashion Princess In V Magazine

There have been more busts than blockbusters this summer, but we're betting Pacific Rim will be the anomaly. It has everything a Hollywood blockbuster needs: Robots, global destruction, a dash of sci-fi, war, and a killer babe. Rinko Kikuchi suits up as Mako Mori, a pilot whose mission it is to change the course of the Kaiju, beasts set on destroying the Earth. She's a total badass and rocks a robotic suit better than some people rock a real one. Outside of the Pacific Rim, however, Kikuchi is something of a fashion chameleon, and V Magazine knows it.
For the The Nicola Formichetti-styled shoot, Kikuchi gets futuristic in a stunning spread complete with metallics, leather, and fur. We love a good fashion editorial that takes us to new worlds while highlighting the latest designs we're craving, and this one fits the bill. Think Tron meets McQueen; It's a visual feast we'd gladly consume and not be embarrassed to ask for more. Plus, Derek Blasberg got her talking about the robot suit, sci-fi fashion, and her penchant for Chanel: "There is nothing like Chanel to make you feel confident on the red carpet." Amen, Kikuchi, amen.
