Rihanna Gets Super-Intimate For Her New Fragrance

The visuals for Rihanna's new perfume were just unveiled in today's WWD and they're pretty stunning. Shot by Mario Sorrenti, the black and white snaps feature Rihanna seductively curled on top of a plain wooden chair, one strap of her thin black dress hanging precariously off her shoulder. The whole vibe feels very "life is a Cabaret, old chum" to us.
The images will accompany her new scent, Rogue, out in September. The perfume is described as a "flirty, sensual Oriental," and is built around notes of lemon blossom, jasmine, rose, plum, suede, patchouli, vanilla, and amber.
“People are always changing and evolving, and with Rogue I wanted to switch it up to reflect who I am today,” RiRi told WWD. “I made it for all women, for every mood, because we all want to project our true selves.”

We're digging the pared-down glamour shots — too often celebrities go over the top with crazy wardrobe, makeup, and visual effects in their ad campaigns, which doesn't do much to humanize them. We like that Rihanna went for a more intimate approach because it makes us feel like we're connecting with her on a more personal level. After her success with MAC, it's also nice to see her pick up steam in the beauty space. We're looking forward to the scent and seeing how Rihanna continues to expand her sizable influence into projects outside of the music realm. (WWD)
