“F*cking New York” Exhibit Is Literally What It Sounds Like

UPDATE: After reading our post on his project, "F*cking New York" artist Nikola Tamindzic reached out to inform us that his project is also open to men. Tamindzic writes, "Gothamist, for some reason, stressed the 'women' part in the title — I don't blame them, as all photos they've seen so far are, indeed, of women. But the series is far from being exclusive to women — it is supposed to grow into a fully New York-centric story — New Yorkers of all genders, ages, shapes, sizes, races, are more than welcome to join. The more (and more diverse!) the merrier [...] You can imagine both the fierceness and the hilarity involved in men actually trying to f*ck the city." Why, yes. Yes we can.

If we were trolling through the treasure trove that is the Craigslist personals section (as we are wont to do), we would undoubtedly come across a plethora of requests asking women to do, well, all kinds of weird stuff. And though we're assuming a lot of ladies would read these posts and file them under "creepy," artist Nikola Tamindzic seemed to have little trouble finding willing females for his sexually explicit exhibit, "F*cking New York."
New Yorkers often express their frustration at the city's obstacles with a resounding "f*cking New York!" and Tamindzic's art takes this angst-ridden phrase for a literal spin, showing the sexual relationship between our fair city and women. Of the collection, Tamindzic told Gothamist, "Okay, so F*CKING NEW YORK: that cliche about New York being the most important relationship for as long as you live here? So true! But what if we took that further? What would actually f*cking New York be like? What would getting f*cked by New York look like?" He's certainly nabbed our curiosity. And on top of it all, "F*cking New York" will now also be a book — and you can be a part of it, as Tamindzic has invited Gothamist readers to contact him directly, should they be interested in joining his project.
We have mixed feelings about Tamindzic's project. What do you think — would you participate? (Gothamist)
