If you're as obsessed with makeup artist/photographer Robin Black's blog Beauty Is Boring as we are (and you should be, considering we tell you to check it out on the regular), you'll be psyched to know about its new video series with The New Tough. As with just about everything else to look at on BIB, it's like nothing we've ever seen before.
The series, aptly named "27 Seconds," features short videos that illustrate the creative process behind the Polaroids that make up their content. The shorts are "inspired by silent film screen tests of the 1920s," but despite the vintage inspiration, they feel completely modern. The set of restrictions the artists work with — only having a chest-to-head crop, with a white background, and no sound — creates a moving and stark template for each unique model to convey a whole lot of emotion in a short period of time. There are currently five videos available. It's an ongoing project, and we can't wait to see what else is to come.
