It's official: I'm hosting the #Oscars! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy, my wife Portia and, oh dear, there goes the orchestra.

So we know it might be a little early to start our Oscars frenzy — we still have to get through the Emmys and the Golden Globes, after all — but this morning's news is too exciting not to share. Ellen DeGeneres just announced via Twitter that she'll be hosting the big show for the second time, and we couldn't be happier.
The comedian also earned the Academy's top spot back in 2007, and, in our humble opinion, she knocked it out of the park. We'll spare you the gory details of reminiscing about last year's Seth MacFarlane hosting debacle, but we will say that we have very high hopes that the award show will redeem itself in a big way. Could Ellen be the next Billy Crystal? Here's hoping.
