During one fateful trip to Topshop, Leandra Medine's friend commented that her style was remarkably unsexy — as in, it would literally repel men. Based on the idea that her wardrobe is endearingly unappealing, Medine and company coined the term "Man Repeller." Of course, she is now the unofficial poster child for fashion writers in New York, fueling the romantic idea that women can end up with the fabled Carrie Bradshaw life. In anticipation of her forthcoming book, Man Repeller: Seeking Love. Finding Overalls. , Medine opened up to WWD about what we can expect from her debut publication.
Though the tone of the book reportedly takes on the same voice of her blog, there will be new essays from Medine, detailing the role clothes and style have played in her life, from childhood to college, all the way up to her wedding. Medine's book hits the stands September 10, but in the meantime, check out her full interview that reveals the same personality and quick-wit that we've long been smitten by.
