We generally think of sleepy-chic hair and a peter pan collar as Alexa Chung's two most necessary style tricks. But, apparently, we were wrong — the It Brit says her liquid eyeliner is the one thing she'll never leave the house without. "Other people like other things to feel like they look normal," she told WWD, "but for me, I'm pretty much naked without my eyeliner on. It's my comfort blanket." So, it makes perfect sense that she'd lend her tried-and-true collaboration skills (remember the Madewell heyday?) to beauty brand Eyeko!
The collection, which so far consists of a $45 (£35) set of waterproof black mascara and a matching eyeliner, will be for sale globally in November at Selfridges, Space NK, and Sephora. And given what both parties have to say about the creative process, we're expecting great things! Co-founder Nina Leykind said that Chung was so enthusiastic, she would "email us in the middle of the night and say, 'Hey, what about this, such a cool name for a product,'" and Chung confirmed the project was a free-flow of ideas between herself and the brand. Sorry, red lipstick — we might have a new best friend in the beauty department. (WWD)
