We tend to associate people with their scents — and, as it turns out, most women take the extra step to make sure that association isn't ambiguous. White Diamonds Elizabeth Taylor conducted a poll of over 1500 women that revealed that 72% of women have a "signature scent." Meaning, we want you to think of us and only us when you smell roses, or vanilla, or a tropical rainforest in the sky (you laugh, but those perfume descriptions paint a very precise picture of what the scent is supposed to remind you of).
For some of us, though, choosing just one scent to wear every day sounds about as difficult as having the same hairstyle forever. It's just not going to happen —though this study strongly suggests we're in the minority. The study also revealed that 74% of women think that having a signature scent makes them more memorable. Does that mean they also believe that not having a signature scent makes someone less memorable? Uh oh.
We want to know what you all think about signature scents. Do you have one, or do you prefer to change it up and maintain your olfactive mystery?
