We've always loved TOMS — mostly for the do-gooder mentality, but also because the kicks are just so darn comfortable. After all, a girl can't strut in stilettos every hour of every day, and these canvas slip-ons provide the perfect opportunity to slip into something more casual. And, if we get to feel like we're doing our part to help out someone in need, that's just the icing on the cake.
Now, the Venice, California-based company is rolling out another charitable initiative, and it's one we can really get behind. For the first time, TOMS will be lending a hand to children, right here in America: Founder Blake Mycoskie says he expects to donate a whopping one million shoes across the states by 2014. And, in exchange for sales of the eyewear line, he'll even be helping visually-impaired adults gain access to quality eye care. As if we needed another reason to stock up on comfy kicks. (Racked)
