Guess Who Just Made The Swarovski Collective Spring ’14 Hot List?

Swarovski has just announced the 13 designers who will be a part of its Swarovski Collective for spring 2014. Mary Katrantzou, Giles, Rodarte, and Huishan Zhang are back for another glittering season, while Sister by Sibling, Michael van der Ham, and Alexis Mabille are the newest recruits to this successful franchise.

The Swarovski Collective was established in 1999 by Nadia Swarovksi with the aim of supporting rising and established designers in experimenting with the use of crystals in their own designs, plus offering financial support for a runway show and unlimited use of the brand's crystals. As Nadia Swarovksi explains,
"Swarovski is delighted to be working with some of the most exceptional emerging and established talents this season. Our collaborations result in extraordinary experimentation within the fashion world and we are excited to see how each designer will use their artistry to explore the infinite creative potential of Swarovski crystal."

Swarovski isn't lying when she mentions the "infinite creative potential" of crystal. The brand's signature shiny cut rhinestones are just a tip of the iceberg in terms of the crystals the brand produces each year. As Michael van der Ham says to British Vogue, "Swarovski crystal is an amazing element to have within the embellishments this season, mixed with other couture embroideries for a set of cocktail dresses. The Swarovski crystal collection is of such a high standard and is so vast that it really lifts the textures and the garments themselves." We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Roll on Fashion Week, we can't wait to see you in all your shimmering glory. (Vogue)
