It's no secret that Jennifer Lopez has been a force within the entertainment industry. And it looks like nothing's changing anytime soon. So, what else can we expect from the artist in the upcoming months? Her return as a judge on American Idol, her eighth studio album, more product lines, a producing credit on ABC Family's The Fosters, and a film role in The 33, which tells the story of the 2010 Chilean mining accident. Yup, she's a busy woman. And though Lopez, in her interview with Cosmo, admits that attending the president of Turkmenistan's birthday party earlier this year was a mistake, the larger reveal in her Q&A is a biggie. Despite her global fame and success, the Grammy-nominated artist told
Cosmo
, "The biggest insecurity I had was my singing. Even though I had sold 70 million records, there was this feeling like, 'I’m not good at this.' And while I was married to Marc, he helped me get over it. He kept telling me, ‘You’re the only one holding yourself back from reaching your full potential as a singer. You have to let go’…I was always so insecure and just kind of going along. Then I grew, little by little, and realized, wait a minute, this is not a fluke. I’m not a mistake — I work my ass off. And I know what I’m doing.” It's hard to believe that J.Lo's ever had a moment of self-doubt, but possibly harder to believe that we mere mortals can finally really relate to someone whose day job involves working with the likes of George Clooney et al. October issue hits stands on September 10.
