It's hard to believe that September 14 marks the date of what would have been Amy Winehouse's 30th birthday. And the late singer's father, Mitch, is choosing to commemorate her life in the part of town that knew and loved her best — Camden. Throughout the month of September, various establishments will be celebrating Amy's life and raising money for her namesake charity in the process.
Her father explains to
The Evening Standard
the reasons behind this fund-raising initiative, “Anybody...can suffer addiction, and the foundation is all about helping those people. Rather than them thinking she was a drug addict and an alcoholic, but a great singer, I want people to know what a super girl she was and down underneath it all just a normal kid.”

Camden resto Gilgamesh is providing an Amy-inspired menu for the entire month, plus a Friday I'm In Love sing-along the day before the singer's birthday. Proud Galleries will also host an "Amy Winehouse For You I Was A Flame" exhibition from September 11 to October 6.
