Londoners, the wait is over. The cronut is officially here. Albeit with a slightly dodgy new name. But, that's not what matters. The NYC food obsession is here and it is all thanks to Greggs bakery. Yes, really.
Till October 1, you will be able to pick up a "greggsnut" from 13 of the high-street baker's London stores — and there are two flavours to choose from, summer berry and creme and caramel and pecan. Decisions, decisions.
A spokesman for the bakery described it as "The most exciting thing since the birth of the sausage roll." Woah there, Greggs, that is a pretty big statement you've just made. We guess we'll have to taste at least one of each of the "greggsnut" flavours to see if there is any truth to it. All in the name of investigative journalism, of course. (Digital Spy)
