Before Andy Warhol became famous for his pop art, he was an illustrator and commercial artist for the likes of Barneys, Neiman Marcus, Vogue, and Harper's Bazaar. To showcase this segment of his illustrious career, Christie's is hosting an online-only auction titled "AndyWarhol@Christie's: Fashion," featuring original works sourced directly from the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts.
What we're really excited about is that the sale will highlight over 120 photographs, prints, and drawings, and showcase the New York fashion world through Warhol's eyes. Bidding starts at $1,500 and runs tomorrow through September 25, and coincide with a special exhibition at the Tribeca Grand Hotel, which will close on September 22.
When: September 11, 10 a.m. (EDT) to September 25, 10 a.m. (EDT).
Where: Online.
