Amidst all the ugly shoes making a comeback — Birkenstocks, Tevas, Uggs even — the one shoe brand that's been left out of the revival is Crocs. It seems like the "edible," perforated, plastic clog isn't part of the zeitgeist…but they're making a last-ditch effort to insert themselves into our closets.
Crocs designer Stefano Furiani was tapped to design an upscale collection of shoes that still feature the TPU uppers and Croslite footbeds (features your Crocs-loving gardener mom have undoubtedly gushed to you about). Retailing at $80 to $120, it's a good deal more expensive than its originals, and…maybe we're just swayed by the minimalist product photography, but the flats actually look pretty good. The D'Orsay cut-aways, the low-block heel, the sharp black-and-white palette — all wearable. The only thing we'd rather not deal with is that squoval toe…oof.
