Sure, Twitter may already be on our brains ever since it unveiled plans to go public last Friday, but the micro-blogging site is bringing us more news, and this time, it’s music to our ears. Standalone, the company’s latest application that lets users listen to songs that are trending on Twitter, is now available on the popular listening service Spotify. This means, we can transport Standalone-found jams into our playlists on Spotify and listen to them on the desktop version at full length — even if you’re not a premium subscriber. That warrants a victory dance in our books!
Standalone divides the trending tunes into five categories, like “Superstars,” that lists hits from the likes of Beyoncé and Lady Gaga, to "Unearthed,” which exposes us to hidden talent found in tweets. In other words, hunting for that new favorite song you can’t help but play on repeat just got a whole lot easier, and we have a feeling we won’t be standing alone when it comes to using the sweet new service.
