NARS Releases First Look At Guy Bourdin Collection

After the success of last year's Andy Warhol collaboration, it's only natural that NARS would team up with another influential artist for a limited-edition collection of what constitutes as makeup porn. As WWD reports today, that artist would be Guy Bourdin. Makes total sense — Nars credits Bourdin as being one of the biggest influences behind his cult-favorite makeup line, even naming a bright orange blush, Exhibit A, after a book of his photographs.

Says the makeup artist about the photographer: "From the lighting and the makeup, to the abstract backgrounds and poses [in his photographs], Guy built up his own world. There is a certain decadence in Guy’s work that really struck a chord with me.” Nars has recreated that decadence with reformulated cosmetics — the "Cinematic Eyeshadow' and "Cinematic Lipstick" will feature highly-pigmented color payoffs and shiny, dramatic finishes.

The collection's 16 products will launch on October 15 in NARS boutiques and on NARS.com, and then will be available at Sephora and in specialty stores starting on November 1. (WWD)
