Go Ahead And Grab A Falafel — It’s World Vegetarian Day!

Whether you're a vegetarian, pescatarian, freegan, or red-blooded meat eater, you'll be happy to know that today is World Vegetarian Day! According to the North American Vegetarian Society, today's celebration kicks off Vegetarian Awareness Month. And, it's also a good opportunity for all of us to appreciate and enjoy our fave meat-free dishes.
Even if you're devoted to your bacon, you're still welcome to partake. The organization invites all meat eaters to go veggie for the day or the month. If fact, if you pledge to go veggie for the entire month of October, you can enter to win a $1,000 prize. Which you can trade for approximately 300 falafel sandwiches.
Just make sure to check out the absolute best non-meat sources of protein before you begin.
