Vivienne Westwood’s Latest Collab Attempts To (Re)Create Fashion History

Just in time for party season, Matches Fashion and Vivienne Westwood have come together to create something truly wonderful. The Brit retailer and the fashion legend have collaborated on the Red Carpet Collection, a range of evening dresses and gowns that hark back to the days of a bygone era, when glamour was paramount. Not a huge surprise coming from a designer who's known and celebrated for her hourglass gowns and historical references.
Even more exciting: the fact that each of the five dresses carries the iconic “squiggle” print from the designer’s autumn '81 Pirate collection. So basically, these pieces have future-heirloom status written all over them. Literally.
In the words of Westwood herself, these “clothes allow you to project your personality, and are quite theatrical in the sense that they are real clothes, well-designed, and they give you a chance to express yourself.” You don’t need to tell us twice. The entire collection goes on sale on October 9 and Daisy Lowe has lent her considerable modelling services for the collection. Check out a sneak peek of the shoot ahead.
