Geek Out With This “Astronomically Accurate” Constellation Mani

"Galaxy nails", a.k.a. the effect you get when dabbing shades of metallic polish over a dark base shade, are super-cool — but, if you're the kind of girl who likes to be a little bit more scientific with your nail art — well, smarty-pants, you are in luck.

An editor at xoVain decided to go all geek-chic with a manicure that features mini versions of real constellations — from Phoenix to Orion to, yes, the Big Dipper — and, best of all, she featured an exact breakdown on how to get the look. She started with a simple black base, added silver dot "stars" (and added gemstones, because, you know, YOLO), then connected the dots using a nail brush dipped in colored polish. To add to the starry-night effect, she used a sheer glitter topcoat to finish off the look.
