Looks like Anna Wintour saw Gwyneth Paltrow's Met Gala angst and raised her an extra $10,000. Ticket prices to the 2014 event have reportedly jumped from a casual $15,000 to a cool $25,000. Well, jumped seems to be putting it lightly; the prices have, for all intents and purposes, soared.
Page Six
reports that Wintour wants to make the already exclusive event, scheduled for May 5 of next year, even more exclusive. "Increasing the ticket price will make the Met Gala even more high-fashion, even more exclusive and even more aspirational,” claims an unnamed source.
The price hike comes after Paltrow vented her disappointment over how crowded and "intense" this year's ball was. Well, a $10K price-hike will certainly downsize the event. It could also mean more focus on the fashion during the arrival stream, too (and less shouting so we can hear the interviews). One thing's for sure: Kate Upton will have no problem getting her ticket. She forked over the $25K back in 2012 when the asking price was still at $15K. (Telegraph)
