It's a well-known fact that women still aren't making as much money as men. It's certainly not for lack of trying. It's due to a system that has yet to catch up to the times. So, it's easy to get frustrated, especially when we're faced with so many glaring reminders of the inequalities.
But, with the latest report from FindTheCompany on the earnings of female CEOs, there's still a lot to celebrate. The list of the ten highest-paid chief officers reads like a who's who of successful women, not to mention the fact that many still clear more than $10 million a year.
Not surprisingly, the top spot goes to Marissa Mayer, the well-known head of Yahoo. Her annual compensation package is worth a whopping $36.6 million — in other words, some serious dough. Following close behind is Irene Rosenfeld with $28.8 million, who oversees Mondelez International (formerly Kraft). Rounding out the top five are the CEOs from Annaly Capital Management, Children's Place, and IBM, all bringing in over $16 million. While these women are still falling behind their male counterparts, it's still worth throwing out some major props. (Business Insider)
