We've got all kinds of things we want to ask Alexa Chung. And, because we can't help ourselves, we tend to go for the gold: What are you style secrets? Can you be in charge of our hair? But, after we heard Chung speak at Teen Vogue's Fashion University, we knew we had to dig a bit deeper. What has she learned from her career success? And, can we get a sneak peek at her new book, It?
Check out what Chung had to say, and don't forget to RSVP for our talk with Chung happening tomorrow at The Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn. Yep, it looks like we're well on our way to becoming actual BFFs with Chung. #dreamscometrue

Did you always want to be a model and TV presenter? When you were younger, were there any other careers you considered?

“When I was younger and still in school, I thought I wanted to be a fashion journalist. This was always my answer when my career advisors would gauge what career path I saw myself following. Fortunately, I did in fact fulfill my past desire to work in this field after receiving the opportunity to write for British Vogue.”

Is there one particular life lesson you have learned that you’d like to share?

“I would have to tell others that not everything always happens for a reason. There are times when bad things happen that no one can control. You just need to move on and stay positive.”

How would you like to be remembered?

“I’d like to be remembered as an individual who has inspired others to step outside of their comfort zone by utilizing fashion as a tool to express individuality and personal style. If I have motivated others to dress for themselves, I know at the end of the day I have impacted them in one way or another, and as a result, I have done my job.”
