Tabitha Simmons is the very definition of poise and polish (not to mention an amazing shoe designer). And, when she teamed up with philanthropic entrepreneur Blake Mycoskie and TOMS magic happened. The result is a collection of quirky, yet wearable, slip-ons and lace-up espadrilles we'll wear from now through summer. Last night, we had the privilege of catching up with Simmons at the intimate launch dinner for her chic collaboration. Ahead, we talk shoe comfort, desert boots, and what she's most thankful for.
What is the most comfortable pair of shoes you've ever worn? "That's a really hard question. Comfortable high or comfortable flat?"

Comfortable high! "I guess that's mine! Is that horrible to say? I've tried to make mine comfortable, so I worked quite hard on that."
How would you transition your TOMS shoes specifically from morning to night? "I'd say the black 'I Love You' TOMS are the most morning-to-night kind of TOMS."
When you see a collection do you ever want to go back and tweak or fix? "No! I'm always like, 'Forward! Move forward, move forward, move forward.'"
What's the next thing that you're working on? "Now, I'm working on winter of next year."
I was especially impressed with the wedge espadrille with the lace-up and silk stripe. I love them so much. What inspired the design? "Well, I think it was sort of a play on a desert boot, you know with the wedge. I think sometimes you don't want to be in the flat all the time and I thought that was kind of a good way of interpreting that."
What's one thing you're grateful for this Thanksgiving? "I'm grateful for my family. My children."
