Alright, Taylor Swift, you win this time. The country-pop singer donned yet another Elie Saab gown for the 2013 Country Music Awards in Nashville, TN, last night. It should go without saying, she nailed it. The wine color was big, bold, and elegant — a perfect combination of edge and grace. The pop-country princess let the gown speak for itself and kept the beauty game simple with a bold red lip (her trademark) and nude Jimmy Choo sandals.
It might sound premature, but the 23-year-old starlet received the Pinnacle Award — which recognizes artists who dominate the industry — during last night's ceremony. Garth Brooks, who won the award in 2005, is the only other artist to receive that distinguished honor. It's amazing to think that Swift has had 41 singles make it to the top 40 charts during her young career. Now, that's text book domination right there, folks. Neither the win, nor the video featuring Justin Timberlake, Julia Roberts, Mick Jagger, and Carly Simon applauding the singer could boost her ego, though. Swift kept her acceptance speech cool, calm, and collected, thanking the country music legends who presented the award to her. She wrapped up the evening with a powerhouse performance with Alison Krauss — a.k.a. our heart strings still need mending. If only we had Elie Saab to cry on.
