When you start to think about all the reasons why you loved the '90s, we have no doubt it's the decade's life-changing music that will be at the top of your list (after the awesome duds). And, with '90s nostalgia hitting a high point, it just makes sense that Alanis Morissette would be making a musical.
That's right: Jagged Little Pill is coming to the Great White Way. The seven-time Grammy-Award winner is teaming up with Pulitzer-Prize winning Tom Kitt, the musical mastermind behind Next To Normal and Green Day's American Idiot, to create a production with the same honesty, power, and raw emotion as the hit album.

The musical, which is also titled Jagged Little Pill, will include the record's full track list, songs from her larger body of work, as well as some new, original pieces. “I look forward to taking the heart of Jagged Little Pill and expanding its story, fleshing it out into ever deeper layers of emotionality, specificity, humanity, power, physicality, spirit and fabulism,” Morissette explained in a press release.
The workshop production will take the stage in 2014. And, if the unparalleled success of her album is any indication — it's still the best-selling debut release by a female artist in the U.S. and the highest-selling debut album worldwide in music history — we'd say it will make a big splash on Broadway. And, we're so not mad about it.
