We're not going to take credit for the truly fabulous way Jennifer Lawrence styled her new pixie at The Hunger Games premiere, but we would just like to point out that this slicked-back look is what we've been hoping for. While her drastic chop has been the recipient of less-than-kind words from her "fans," we suspected the issue was in the styling. After all, we'll admit that her side fringe is truly hard to pull off, even for America's cutest BFF.
We have zero issue with this style now that we've seen it in all of its red carpet glory. The soft, pompadour-inspired 'do is equal parts chic and edgy, and we love how it allows us to see her whole face. After all, J. Lawr really doesn't need to be hiding behind her hair.

Our favorite part of this style is her deep side-part. With the hair on the side tightly behind her ear, and the top of her hair combed back, it creates depth and definition. We can just see her running her fingers back through it, effortlessly tousling those newly shorn locks back. Of course, we know that keeping hair back like that takes a lot of hairspray (unless you just stop washing it, and then in a few weeks it'll do whatever you tell it).
We're extraordinarily hopeful for the future of this haircut. It seems that in terms of blowing people's minds, she's just getting started.
