Public School For J.Crew? We’re Excited — & Confused

As tradition dictates, after a designer wins the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Award, one of the next steps is partnering with J.Crew for a collaboration collection. Pamela Love did it. So did Joseph Altuzarra. And, it was good — very good. So, as Fashionista reports, the next brand up to bat with Jenna Lyons is Public School, and some of the latest Instagrams and Tweets from the NYC menswear line suggest that not only is a collab on the way, but we ladies may finally get a chance to get our hands on the gear.
While the winning design duo of Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne suggests that printed tees and denim are in the upcoming collection, as Fashionista points out, the designers also (sort of) positively acknowledged Lucky mag's Tweet "Looks like we'll be seeing some womenswear from @PublicSchoolNYC verrrry soon." And, of course, Public School's response of "!!!!" may not count as an official confirmation, per se, but in social media terms, it's basically a done deal. However, the question remains as to whether CFDA winners' J.Crew offerings will include womenswear, or if the Public School label itself is extending to the ladies' department. Call us greedy, but we'd love both. (Fashionista)
