We understand that not everyone shares our overwhelming enthusiasm for black lipstick. We still love you — even if you don't agree that it's basically the most awesome lip color of all time. That being said, we think we've found a compromise: Ardency Inn's Modster Lip Vinyl in Dubstep Remix. It's black-based with pink undertones, meaning it shows up nearly black out of the tube and looks like a pink-ish plum when it catches the light. Over time, the color fades into a pleasantly deep magenta stain. The whole process is totally gorgeous and edgy in a way that even the most dark-lip shy among us can appreciate.

A little goes a long way with this bad boy, so be sure to apply it in thin layers until you get the intensity you want. Fortunately, the thoughtfully designed applicator makes that easy. Also, it has a glossy finish, which makes the color a lot less intimidating than a matte one. It is a little bit sticky, so you might not want to smooch anyone while you're wearing it, but other than that, this is basically an ideal lip product.
And, once you try this and immediately love it (because you will), we promise that going all the way into blackness will be a lot less terrifying. Excuse us while we go put some on.
