Matte Lips So Beautiful, They’ll Make You Swear Off Shine Forever

Um, hi, new favorite winter makeup product. This stunning image from Fashion Gone Rogue's "Lady Luxe" editorial shoot has officially dragged us out of our Monday morning stupor (a big accomplishment). With a perfect balance of textures — matte lips with dewy skin — this makeup achieves what many of us strive for, and few accomplish.

Let's talk about that crazy-gorgeous pout. Stained like she just ate an entire blackberry pie, makeup artist Elisa Flowers only used Make Up For Ever's Aqua Lip Waterproof Lipliner Pencil in Matte Dark Plum. Sometimes, less really is more.

Another reason her lips stand out so much? Rather than go for a full brow, Flowers actually lightened the model's eyebrows with a thick concealer. We were under the assumption that a bold lip requires a frame, like a strong brow or at least a defined eye, but this is definitely proving us wrong.

And, to get that "just played in the snow" glow, she used Dior's Vibrant Color Powder Blush in Amber Show in the hollows of the model's cheeks. Of course, not all of us have cheeks with hollows, but that's why God invented contouring. (Fashion Gone Rogue)
