We can confidently say we know what will happen at the White House on Valentine's Day — and no, we’re not talking about roses or heart-shaped boxes of chocolate for the first lady. Apparently, POTUS is just as psyched as we are for the second season of House of Cards, which will be released February 14. On Tuesday, President Obama met with a group of tech CEOs to discuss NSA surveillance and he jokingly asked Netflix CEO, Reed Hastings, if he brought some advanced copies of the new season. In return, Hastings offered the prez a cameo on the show. (Sadly, Obama didn't jump at the chance.)
Being the leader of the free world and all, we assumed that Obama wouldn’t be interested in a show that so closely resembles his daily grind. But, the president went so far as to say he wished Congress was a bit more like the one on the show. “I wish things were that ruthlessly efficient," Obama remarked. "It’s true. It’s like Kevin Spacey, man this guy’s getting a lot of stuff done.”
Of course, anyone who’s seen the show knows the high price that Francis Underwood pays to get stuff done. But, after dealing with one congressional stalemate after another, Obama might appreciate an Underwood-type making moves in the background. As for the president's silence on a Season 3 cameo, we can only keep our fingers crossed and hope for a Poliwood miracle. (Business Insider)
