London is home to a number of storied fashion houses, from Burberry to Alexander McQueen. And, thanks to BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, the city's style scene is getting even stronger.
Mary Katrantzou, Emilia Wickstead, House of Holland, Osman, Peter Pilotto, and Zoe Jordan are the six super-talented British designers nominated for this year’s Fund. There’s certainly no shortfall of talent and potential for commercial success here.
"I am very pleased with the names on this year's shortlist," said Alexandra Shulman, editor-in-chief of British Vogue and chair of the Fund committee. "They are a group of considerable talent, demonstrating the wealth of ideas and creativity to be found in the fashion industry here."

Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council, added, “The BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund has a proven track record of enabling British designers to make the transition from rising stars to incredible international businesses. The strength of this year’s shortlist represents a generation of talent who are ready for the financial and mentoring support The Fund offers.”
Established five years ago, The Fund provides one up-and-coming fashion designer with an invaluable mentorship and a £200,000 grant to help establish their label. Previous winners include Nicholas Kirkwood, Erdem, and Christopher Kane, all of whom have gone onto enjoy immense success in their respective careers.
The Fund is well-supported by Burberry, Clothing at Tesco, Debenhams, Harrods, Paul Smith, Topshop, and British Vogue. The winner of the BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund will be announced on January 28, 2014.
