Rad Or Bad: Katy Perry’s Tumblr Princess Look

What happens in Vegas usually stays in Vegas. But, that rule doesn't apply when Katy Perry is the one making things happen. The pop star took some time off from rodeoing around with John Mayer to support fellow pop-star Britney Spears' opening of her Vegas residency show, Piece of Me.

Now, by red-carpet standards, the outfit oracles weren't expecting whopper looks for the event, but them oracles probably weren't expecting this ensemble, either. Perry somehow managed to personify a Tumblr dashboard: shiny things, exposed legs, Chanel, school-girl thigh-highs, and chunky boots. The '90s met Y2K and it's worthy of a side eye, at least. Seems Perry's been paying attention to the streetwear trend working its way around the sartorial world — jerseys are definitely a hot item. Plus, amping up the magpie-attracting meter is sorta her thing.

It's everything below the waist that's a head scratcher. A tutu? Has the zeitgeist been missing Carrie Bradshaw's SATC outfit so much, it decided to bring it back? We'll consult the Tumblr deities for that one. Or, rather, you be the judge.
