Drake Debuts “Trophies” Just In Time For NYE

All ye enter the Royal Courts of Drizzy.
Drake has released a new song called “Trophies,” and it promises to carry us into the New Year with triumph and pride. The track opens with a regal round of trumpets to announce our king, who goes on to encourage, or rather, demand, his listeners to “pop f**kin champagne in the tub.” And we just might do that.
“Trophies” is a first-ever collaboration with Hit-Boy, the producer behind Kanye’s “Clique” and A$AP Rocky’s “Goldie.”
To some, the track may sound familiar. “Trophies” did not make Drake’s third studio album, Nothing Was the Same, but was teased in its mysterious trailer in early September. The brassy intro served as the background music for a slow motorcade of luxury vehicles with Canadian flags and shiny rims. While we all may not be able to reach our NYE destinations in such a fashion, we can still play “Trophies” at full volume to celebrate 2014.
