As winter weather continues to ruin our hair and happiness, it's hard to find things to smile about, no matter how many hours we spend hugging our happy lamps. If you're in the same freezing-cold boat, allow us to direct your attention to the glowing face of Lea Seydoux. Out of context, this image looks like it was taken in May — surely a complexion this luminous couldn't occur during the coldest, darkest time of year?
Actually, what you're witnessing is a make-up marvel at work: well-executed highlighter. Applied to the tops of her cheekbones, the inner corners of her eyes, and on either side of her nose, Seydoux looks like she's bathing in warm afternoon sunlight. We can almost hear the birds chirping. It also looks like she's wearing the same pink tint on her lips and cheeks, keeping the whole look beautifully fresh and simple.
