So, here's a thing we've started doing that we're really excited about: wearing eyeshadow on the inner corners of our eyes. A small amount of color placed just so can be a truly transformative detail. As makeup artist Elisa Flowers puts it, "Adding a shimmery highlight to the inner corners of your eyes creates a bright, open, and youthful appearance, perfect for day or night. It reflects light and counters the look of fatigue." What's not to like about that?
We're not sure why it's taken so long for this area of the face to rise to power, but now that we've seen the gorgeousness that's possible, we'll never neglect it again. So, what's the best way to get this look? Flowers says to use a shimmery texture and apply it sparingly with your fingers. "I love Chanel's Illusion D'Ombre, especially in Convoitise, a light gold, and Emerveillé, a gorgeous champagne pink," she says. These pearly shadows are also super easy to use, with a uniquely soft gel-like texture.

If you want a more natural-looking highlight, rather than a pop of color, Flowers recommends trying out MAC's Cream Colour Base in Luna, Pearl, or Shell. The creamy formula makes this an ideal product for skin that's on the dry or mature side.
As for what not to do? Since this look is all about subtlety, Flowers advises we avoid loud colors, especially in the bright pink and purple families. "That's a quick way to look tired and ill," she says. Noted.
