Alexander Wang’s Spring Ads Take Place In Your H.S. Bathroom

If anyone can remember their high school girl's bathroom with the "troublemaker" in the corner smoking a cigarette, they can probably appreciate the new Alexander Wang campaign. And, that's true no matter if you were that girl or were the one sheepishly shuffling in and out of the stall without making eye contact. Lensed by Steven Klein in the Old School in Soho, the images feature Wang's censor-bar-laiden gear and one cheeky model who's not afraid to wear it ironically.
While our old school restrooms may have been a pretty gritty scene, too, the high-fashion version for this campaign is much less along those "All the stalls have been T.P.-ed, again" lines. Instead, model Anna Ewers' provocative pose and "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" top nods to Wang's theme for this latest collection, which "plays on the duality of naïveté and perverse explicitness in youth culture," as he explained to WWD. And, perhaps there's no place more appropriate to put it all into perspective. Let us know in the comments section below what you make of the satirical shots. (WWD)
