We love the drinking-game, vegging-out festival that is awards season — and even more when we get adorable sneak peeks from the stars' own phones. New Girl actress Zooey Deschanel posted her amazing nail art before hitting the Golden Globes red carpet, and, clearly, we're mad for her manicure.
It's not surprising that Deschanel would continue her reign as Queen of Nail Art, but we also wanted to know how her main nail man, Tom Bachik for L'Oréal Paris, gave Zooey her terrific talons. Bachik, who said he was inspired by the architectural beading at the top of her gown, went with a '60s floral motif that merged soft tones and splashes of shimmering gold with some 3-D action. The nail guru created Zooey's offset French manicure by first prepping the nails, then creating off-center yellow tips with pastel-yellow polish, sweeping two-thirds of the way up the nail at an angle for a bit of edge. He then applied a shimmering gold-flecked topcoat with a striper brush along the top of the French tip, which softened the line between the tips and bare nail bed. The base of the design was set with one coat of L'Oréal Paris Colour Riche Nail Top of the Line topcoat and allowed to dry.

Randomly applied gold studs in various sizes made up the centers of the flowers, and the petals were painted on with a small detail brush dipped in L'Oréal Paris Colur Riche Nail in I Will. Bachik added more gold glitter-flecked polish over the centers of the flowers, blended it out into the peals, and topped the look with one more swipe of topcoat before Zooey made her way to the red carpet.
So cute, so doable. You can find us currently breaking out the nail-art kit while the broadcast continues to get the look. After all, if these speeches are any indication, it's going to be a long night....
