Jay Z: Barclays Center, January 13, $32.50
If you've slept on Jay Z's recent NYC dates for the Magna Carta World tour, this is your last chance to see him (if you don't want to trek to Nassau Coliseum or the Prudential Center, that is). His current career-spanning set has been a massive crowd-pleaser, and if you're lucky he may even ask you on stage to rap a few bars.
Monday, January 13, 8 p.m., Barclays Center, 620 Atlantic Avenue (at Flatbush Avenue); 212-359-6387.
Disclosure: Terminal 5, January 17, 18 and 19, $32
To put it simply, Disclosure has one of the most purely fun live shows in music — electronic or otherwise. And, with three appearances at Terminal 5 this week, you have no excuse to miss out. What's more, if you can't make it to the live shows, the brothers Lawrence are stopping by Williamsburg's Output Club for a more intimate late-night DJ set on Saturday.
Friday, Saturday and Sunday, January 17, 18 and 19, 7 p.m., Terminal 5, 610 West 56th Street (between 11th and 12th Avenues); 212-582-6600.
F*cked Up, DIIV, White Lung, Guardian Alien, LODRO, and Special Guest : 285 Kent, January 19, $20
Our favorite Williamsburg DIY venue is closing its doors, and this Sunday marks the last in a series of farewell shows. Though the show is apparently sold out, the venue occasionally releases a limited number of tickets at the door. There's also a show Saturday, headlined by Wolf Eyes, with a few tickets still available. Goodbye, 285. It was fun while it lasted.
Sunday, January 19, 8 p.m., 285 Kent, 285 Kent Avenue (between South 1st and South 2nd Streets); 718-599-1450.
