With yesterday's awesome premieres of True Detective and Girls, and the release of the first trailer for Game Of Thrones' fourth season, it kind of feels like if it's not on HBO, it's not worth watching.
Today, Starz is here to tell us otherwise. The fledgling network behind shows like Spartacus and Magic City has released the first trailer for Outlander, its most highly anticipated show yet. Based on the best-selling book series by Diana Gabaldon, Outlander follows Claire Randall (Caitriona Balfe), a combat nurse who is mysteriously transported from 1945 to 1743. And, while the network doesn't exactly have a glowing track record when it comes to original programming, Outlander has a good shot at being its first breakout hit. Not only is the source material extremely popular, but the man bringing it to life is none other than Ron Moore, who is also responsible for the criminally underseen Battlestar Galactica reboot. If you're one of the criminals who haven't seen it, we suggest you do so. Only then will you be invited to our Outlander viewing party. And, trust us, you want an invite. We're making mutton and partridge, because that's what they ate in the 1700s right? (Complex)
