The Titanic Returns! — And The Heart Does Go On

Remember in the beginning of Titanic, when the old, grandmother-version of Rose recounts, "It's been 84 years, and I can still smell the fresh paint. The china had never been used. The sheets had never been slept in. Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was." While some part of us felt teased by this, knowing that we would never experience the china, the sheets, or young Leo holding our arms out in front of the massive ship. But, our rational side always kept us from fully indulging in that scenario, reminding us of the fact that this would also mean drowning in an ice-cold ocean.
Well, thanks to a lucrative Chinese firm, the possibility of experiencing these wonders (sans tragedy...and young Leo) might actually be in our near future. According to Business Insider, Seven Star Energy Investment is in the process of recreating a full-scale replica of the Titanic, which will remain docked in a bay and function as the main attraction of a theme park in China. No word on when this one-billion-dollar amusement park ride will be ready, nor whether or not a replica of "the heart of the ocean" necklace will be present — but rest assured that we'll keep you posted.
