A Red Lip That Will Make All Your Other Lipsticks Jealous

There's no denying a red lipstick look is classic and sexy, but lately we've been wanting a little more than our go-to pout could provide. Call it holiday fatigue, but a basic red lip has been feeling a bit "been there, kissed that." We wore it so much over the last few weeks that we're actually kind of bored by the very idea of it. Blasphemous, we know.

Needless to say, when superstar makeup artist and all around cool girl Charlotte Tilbury offered to show us a way to zhush up that old makeup staple, we quite literally jumped at the chance. Tilbury, a backstage fixture and the woman responsible for making Kate Moss look even more freaking amazing, is one of our all-around favorite makeup pros and for good reason: The woman knows her stuff and is a wealth of little-known tricks and brilliant techniques.

Taking cues from Jennifer Lawrence's plum pout at the Globes, Tilbury showed us how — by layering colors and playing with textures — you can take your red lip from snoozy to sassy in a snap.
