Just in case you missed it, 12 Years A Slave's Lupita Nyong'o left everyone in her wake again at last night's Critics' Choice Awards red carpet. We've got the breakdown from her glam squad on the magic that accompanied her stunning Calvin Klein gown, so let's get to it, shall we?
Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose was in charge of her fabulous, shimmering face. "We went for a modern take on black and white with two-toned eyes," said Barose, who dabbed Chanel Illusion d'Ombre in Fantasme on the star's brow bones and around the inner corners of her eyes for dramatic effect. He then smudged Surratt Beauty Smokey Eye Baton 1- Fumee Noir (a creamy shadow-liner pencil) along the outer corners of her eyes, adding a touch into the crease. He defended the T-zone by mattifying with Mally Beauty Evercolor Poreless Face Defender, and balanced the ethereal look with a pale-pink, opalescent lip courtesy of MAC Tinted Lipglass in Love Child.

Celebrity hairstylist Ted Gibson was in charge of the gorgeous hairstyle. "I love working with her because she loves beauty," said Gibson. He prepped Nyong'o's hair using two shine lotions mixed with a strong hold wax, then calmed flyaways by pressing hot towels to her head, which also gave her hair incredible shine. "Textured hair absorbs light, so it's very important to give this type of hair shine and moisturizing," advises Gibson. He exaggerated her widow’s peak by filling in her hairline with a fiber- filing agent, then, once it dried, applied hairspray to lock the style in place.
One: We'd love to have this glam squad on call for our own red-carpet moment. Two: We can't even be jealous because we love her so much. This look was far and away one of the winners from last night's red carpet, and we can't wait to see what Nyong'o does next. We're just going to sit back and watch her serve it up.
