Chances are you've never seen Mad Men like this. Sure, the show got the Estée Lauder treatment last spring, but Net-A-Porter got its hands on the brand and, well, let's just say the swingin' '60s have swung themselves into platforms and light-up dance floors.
Inez van Lamsweerde, one-half of the powerhouse photography duo, Inez and Vinoodh, channeled her love for Betty Draper-Francis and Joan Harris (née Holloway) into an exclusive Deborah Lippmann polish. This is just one step the photographer is taking toward expanding her and her husband's brand into the lifestyle territory. The polish stems from van Lamsweerde's unfulfilling quest to find the perfect shade that captured the essence of an "uptown New York woman" traveling "on holiday in Palm Springs" in the '50s. That's a pretty specific inspiration, no? Oddly, the lacquer is named after RAZE's 1988 techno-jam "Break4Love."
Now, correct us if we're wrong, but the likelihood of Peggy Olson getting down to RAZE is pretty darn slim considering, you know, the whole decades of difference. Perhaps Lamsweerde was thinking of merging the two worlds, having them meet together at Studio 54? The shade is certainly glitzy enough to make it past the door. (Style)
