Of all the endless casting rumors circulating around J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Wars sequel, this is the one fans have been waiting for. According to Princess Leia herself, the long-running rumor is true: The original cast will be reuniting for the as-yet-untitled Star Wars: Episode 7.
In a recent interview with TV Guide, Carrie Fisher confirmed that she'll be joining fellow original cast members, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, for the film and that she's set to begin shooting either in March or April of this year. "I'd like to wear my old hairstyle again, but with white hair," she joked. "I think that would be funny."
Abrams has been very tight-lipped about details surrounding the film, so we're not sure how he's feeling about Fisher's revelation. (Though, he did recently confirm that the script is finally finished.)
Honestly, we can't recall another film with as much rumor-mongering and speculation surrounding a casting process as this one. At one point or another, just about every hot actor in Hollywood has been linked to the film, including Michael Fassbender, Michael B. Jordan, Jesse Plemons, and Adam Driver, none of whom have officially been cast yet. But, with shooting on the near horizon, casting news will start rolling in faster than the Millennium Falcon can get from Tatooine to Naboo. (Digital Spy)
