There's a special giddy feeling we get when we watch the new collections come in from Haute Couture Fashion Week. These stunning pieces make us feel like they're better suited for a wing in the Louvre than a runway, while, at the same time, we're practically placing bets on which celebs will be the first to debut each creation on the red carpet. But, the couture shows are just as much a place for trend spotting as well. And, this is the most unexpected one: thighs. Bare thighs.
We can't say the sheer skirt (or, well, sheer almost everything) is new by any means, but the latest theme we're seeing is the kind of see-through fabric that's only concentrated on the quads. At Zuhair Murad, a lush, lacy dress showed plenty of skin, including a strip of the legs somewhere between the bottom of the model's hips and the top of her calves.

At Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld omitted detailing over the thighs on an otherwise finely decorated dress. And, Elie Saab even presented an ethereal, all-white look that was only strategically transparent, allowing one part of the lady's legs to shine. Yes, the thighs have it.
Perhaps this latest iteration of statement-making sheers is just a fluke. But, after three instances of thigh spotting, we wouldn't be surprised if the trend catches on. Please feel free to weigh in on these lovely — albeit leggy — looks. Do they make you feel a bit gun gam-shy?
