Is This Chanel Machine Behind All Of The Brand’s Magic?

Karl Lagerfeld's new Chanel film is something straight out of a sci-fi flick, complete with spooky laboratory scientists, billowy smoke, and one elaborate piece of machinery (Is that a transformer? Who knows?!). The mood is, to be frank, sort of eerie and suspenseful. And, then there's Lindsey Wixson and Soo Joo Park, in plain-Jane lab coats, descending into an ominous apparatus emblazoned with the iconic double-C logo. We'll admit, we weren't sure where this was going, but as it turns out, this is how Lagerfeld and the Chanel crew roll out the house's creations. That's ready-to-wear spring, pre-fall, fall, resort, and couture, to be specific.
In the short film for spring '14, the French fashion house has enlisted the help from a grand sartorial machine to produce the ultimate Chanel lady. As the supermodels emerge from the contraption, they're newly dressed in gorgeous Chanel wares, no pearl or glove spared. We've always suspected there was a little hint of magic at play when it comes to Kaiser Karl. Watch Chanel's superpowers come to life, below.
