Arguably the most beloved sporting event of all time is taking place here in New York this week, and tickets are still available for only $1. That’s right, Animal Planet’s Puppy Bowl X is underway now through the end of the week and open to the public (with reservations) at Discovery Times Square (226 West 44th Street).
In the past, the adorable action has been cloistered in a studio in the West 50s. This year, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the event, Animal Planet has partnered with the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals and the ASPCA to provide an “interactive Puppy Bowl Experience” at the museum, which is owned by the channel’s parent company.

Expect swag giveaways, animal defecation humor, and irresistible orphan puppies that just might warm your Polar Vortex-frosted heart enough to make you sign on the dotted line and surprise your special someone with a furry V-Day gift.
All of the Puppy Bowl players have been adopted, but other kittens and puppies will be waiting to meet you and deliver their slobbering elevator pitch every day at 4 p.m.
While the match that will air on Super Bowl Sunday was actually filmed in a studio a few months ago, Animal Planet’s Geico Stadium-replica bears all the hallmarks of the “real” thing: a center-hung multimedia display scoreboard, a crudely painted sold-out stadium crowd, and a distinct ammoniac fragrance. The only significant difference is that uniformed referees have been replaced with ASPCA volunteers.
It might be the experience of a lifetime, so tell your boss you need an extended lunch/bathroom break and lose yourself in this cuddly wuddly wonderland. Just don’t let anybody spill the kibble on your midday getaway by posting your Kiss Cam video on social media. If you need convincing, just check out these behind-the-scenes pics of the pups in action.
